The Role
The Payments Analyst role is a key function within the FinOps team, responsible for the management and processing of inbound and outbound client transactions. Reporting to the Payments Team Lead in London, the position is designated to cover the early shift (8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.) to meet global payment early cut-off requirements.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Payment processing: Process inbound and outbound transactions for our UK entities, handling exceptions and managing swift tracking of transactions to ensure processing times are within the business SLA.
Inbox Management: Oversee and manage the centralised UK Payments Mail Inbox as well as EU cover during bank holidays, ensuring all communications are handled promptly.
Bank Liaison: Communicate with banking providers regarding payments and queries and escalating issues as necessary. Placing recalls and tracers on payments.
Account Reconciliation: Conduct morning reconciliations of UK client and treasury bank accounts, proactively investigating and resolving any differences that may arise.
Team Collaboration: Work effectively with the Operations and Treasury teams to ensure efficient payment processing.
Customer Service: Provide top-notch customer service to Lumon’s UK clients, addressing account and payment queries professionally and promptly.
Interdepartmental Relations: Maintain strong working relationships with management and other departments, especially finance.
Compliance: Ensure full compliance with internal and external policies.
Daily Safeguarding: Perform daily safeguarding processes before cut-off times, following Lumon’s documented processes in line with Safeguarding regulations.
Key Qualifications:
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in handling payment details and financial records.
Communication Skills: Strong spoken and written communication abilities to interact with clients and internal teams.
Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills to address client queries effectively.
Numerical Skills: Good numerical aptitude to manage payment processes and financial tasks efficiently.
This role is essential for ensuring smooth payment operations, contributing to the overall efficiency and compliance of financial processes.
